2- Red Drum® : How it works and is made.

The Red Drum® cylinder is constructed of interchangeable curved plates coated with an anti-static / anti-friction Teflon. The specially coated Red Drum® fabric is attached to these plates

The Red Drum® 's rotation creates centrifugal force that lifts the fabric, creating an air cushion between the plates and the fabric. On this ink repellent fabric, riding on a cushion of air, sheets are transferred, mark-free, to the delivery.

Repellent dye fabric may be placed on to all existing transfer cylinders or drums of the delivery chains of sheet-fed offset presses. See also the Red Drum® Conversion Kit
